Welcome!

Welcome you back to the 2019-2020 school year at Steel City Academy (SCA)!  We hope your summer was both exciting and relaxing, but the time has come to transition back to “work mode.” 

My name is Ms. Arras, and I will be the 8th grade mathematics teacher this school year.  I have taught middle school and high school math, ELA, science, and social studies for the last 11 years on the south side of Chicago (Washington Park/Englewood and South Chicago neighborhoods) and in East Chicago, Indiana.  I am also the middle school girls’ basketball coach at Steel City. 

In both teacher and coach roles, I have a passion for setting, attaining, and surpassing goals and expectations.  I am anxious to begin working with you all and building a strong academic foundation for our future!
